LOS NOGALES

THE FARMS

Los Nogales, located in the southern part of Huila, is widely considered the most prominent farm in the area. It covers about 35 hectares of land in El Diamante village within the Brussels municipality. Originally owned by the renowned coffee producer Ricaute Hernandez, who was the first recipient of the Colombian Cup of Excellence, this farm holds great historical importance. Sadly, Hernandez passed away in 2013 in a tragic incident on the farm, leaving behind his wife, Suldery Arango. Today, Los Nogales is dedicated to producing high-quality coffees.

THE PRODUCER

Oscar Hernandez, a coffee grower from the first generation, once avoided fieldwork by posing as a soldier in the Colombian navy for about five years. However, his life took a different direction in 2013 after the tragic murder of his father, Ricaute Hernandez, a renowned coffee grower from Huila. PRODUCER This heartbreaking event led Oscar to embrace his family’s coffee-growing roots and carry forward his father’s heritage. He immersed himself in learning about coffee microbiology processes and eventually established a unique coffee processing facility that pays tribute to his father’s memory and the legacy of the family farm.
