The El Diviso Farm, established 28 years ago by José Uribe Lasso, has a long-standing tradition in coffee cultivation. Initially focused on traditional coffee varieties, the farm has been a cornerstone of classic coffee production. This heritage has been preserved and built upon through three generations of the Uribe Lasso family. In recent years, a significant shift occurred when José’s son, Nestor, joined the farm seven years ago. Under his leadership, the farm began exploring exotic coffee varieties and overhauling its processing methods. This transition has led to notable accolades, including a sixth- place finish in the Cup of Excellence and a third-place award for their Navel lot at the 2024 Chicago competition.
Nestor, a young coffee grower, began honing his skills as a cupper at just 14 years old. His visits to advanced coffee farms broadened his perspective on production and processing, driving him to challenge traditional market practices. Now, at 25, Nestor is a leading example of innovation and excellence for producers in the region.
