LA RICAURTE

THE FARMS

In the 1940s, the Vélez brothers, Honorio and Julio, inherited this farm from their father, Conrado. It was at this time that the Vélez brothers began to systematically cultivate coffee, with a primary focus on typica and bourbon coffee varieties. Located in close proximity to the town, the farm covers approximately 35 hectares, with 25 of them currently dedicated to the cultivation of exotic and specialty coffees. The farm’s altitude is around 1,750 meters above sea level, and it is home to approximately 100,000 coffee trees, featuring varieties such as Caturra, Colombia, Castillo, and Tabi.
