Villa Valentina takes its name from Gloria’s daughter. It is located in Bruselas, which is a microregion within Huila. It is located southwest of Colombia, at the southern border of the Colombian Coffee Growing Axis; Bruselas has one of the best-paid Specialty coffees in Huila and one of Colombia’s sweetest, fruitiest coffees.
Ana Gloria Rodriguez has worked with coffee for 32 years as a producer. Still, it was only seven years ago when she decided to focus all her efforts on producing specialty coffee. After many years of growing different varieties, she developed a sustainable farm by applying good practices to growing coffee and avoiding poison to control herbs and insects. In the same way, she is engaged with the women’s coffee picker community, which is why she created a project called “Gloriellas,” in which she tries to produce coffee 100% made by women’s hands, it means only women pick the coffee, and she pays a premium for that job. That is how Ana Gloria has become a leader in coffee in her community.
This lot is a Caturra and it is a very clean coffee with a creamy body and flavors such as chocolate, brown sugar, citrus fruit, and tangerine.
