Villa Valentina is named after Ana Gloria’s daughter, the producer. Situated in Bruselas, a microregion in Huila, it lies in the southwest of Colombia, near the southern border of the Colombian Coffee Growing Axis. Bruselas is renowned for having some of the highest-quality specialty coffees in Huila and offers one of Colombia’s most flavorful and sweetest coffee varieties.
Ana Gloria Rodriguez has dedicated 32 years to working in the coffee industry as a producer. While she has been involved in growing various types of coffee for many years, it was only seven years ago that she shifted her focus to producing specialty coffee. By implementing sustainable farming practices and avoiding the use of harmful substances to manage weeds and pests, she has successfully developed an environmentally friendly farm. Moreover, Ana Gloria is actively involved with the women’s coffee picking community. This led her to launch the “Gloriellas” project, where she strives to create coffee exclusively harvested by women. She pays a premium for their work, emphasizing a 100% female workforce in the coffee-picking process. Through her initiatives, Ana Gloria has emerged as a prominent figure and leader in the local coffee industry.
